About LawnCalc Tools
Honest lawn and outdoor living cost estimates — built so you can budget a patio, pergola, or lawn service without overpaying.
Who We Are
LawnCalc Tools is published by Cross Digital Ventures LLC, a small business based in Kansas City, Missouri, and owned and operated by Bobby Cross. We build free consumer cost calculators for outdoor home improvement because outdoor project pricing is notoriously hard to pin down — material costs vary by region, labor varies even more, and most landscape contractors don't publish rates. You can reach a real person anytime through our Contact page.
Why We Built This Site
Outdoor living projects are some of the most underbudgeted home improvements. A homeowner imagines a $5,000 patio and gets a bid for $18,000. The gap is real — material costs, equipment, grading, and contractor markup add up faster than most people expect — but it's also navigable if you know roughly what to expect going in. We built LawnCalc Tools to give you that baseline: realistic 2026 cost ranges for patios, pergolas, lawn service, and other outdoor projects, based on actual contractor pricing data, so you can evaluate bids with confidence and know when to push back.
How Our Estimates Are Built
Every calculator on this site uses cost ranges grounded in real contractor pricing — regional labor rates, material costs from major landscape suppliers, and recent consumer project surveys. For patio and pergola tools, we account for the variables that actually move the number: square footage, material (concrete vs. pavers vs. composite deck), site prep complexity, and finish level. For lawn service tools, we factor in lot size, service frequency, and market rates by region. The outputs are intentionally ranges because a 500-square-foot paver patio in rural Missouri and the same job in suburban New Jersey have meaningfully different labor costs. Use our estimates as a pre-bid benchmark, not a final budget.
What LawnCalc Tools Is Not
We are not a lead-generation service that routes your information to contractors. We are not affiliated with any specific landscape company, materials supplier, or lawn care franchise. The calculators run entirely in your browser — we never see or store your inputs. When we link to lawn and outdoor products in our affiliate sections, we earn a small commission on qualifying purchases, which is what keeps the calculators free.
Our Promise
We will keep these calculators free, keep the cost data current, and keep the explanations in plain language. If you spot an estimate that looks off, tell us. And if a contractor bids your project at a number that surprises you — high or low — you can reach a real person here for a sanity check.
